Do this to lose your sale
I used to lose sales in the same way.
Not because I didn’t care.
Because I cared too much.
I would get on a call and try to:
Be liked.
Be relatable.
Make it feel comfortable.
I’d explain more.
Add more value.
And the conversation would feel… nice.
But nothing would move.
No decision.
No sale.
It took me a while to see it.
And the more I tried to make the other person feel good…
the less they trusted me to actually guide them.
Because people don’t come to you for comfort.
They come to you for clarity.
Now my sales conversations look very different.
I ask better questions.
I sit in the silence.
I say the thing that actually needs to be said.
And sales happen naturally.
