Remember when you were a kid and the simplest things, like a shiny sticker or a mud puddle, were the highlights of your day? Ah, those were the days, right?

Guess what? You can still get a kick out of life’s little joys; you just need to dig into that sandbox of high vibration that is naturally buried deep within you.

Honestly, why did we ever grow up and forget that mud puddles are basically spa treatments for the soul? Somewhere between learning to tie a tie and figuring out how to pay taxes, we lost our knack for finding joy in the mundane.

But it’s not a lost cause! Happiness is like riding a bike; you never really forget. You just have to get back in the saddle and start pedaling toward your own piece of joy, your own high vibration.

1) Talk to Yourself Like You’re the Bomb

Stop trash-talking yourself, seriously. Next time you mess up or something goes wrong, don’t jump to “I’m such an idiot.” No, no, no! You’re awesome, so remind yourself of that. It’s like pep talks, but just for you.

A lot of times, you are disturbed because someone said something you didn’t like. So maybe your friend was hurtful or your father never tells you that you are a great son.

These are all external factors. Imagine what would happen if you took this power back into your own hands?

Instead of letting the absence affect you, you can decide to say all the good words to yourself.

Tell yourself the soothing words that you know you want to hear deep inside.

Tell yourself that you are an awesome human being, tell yourself that you are a wonderful partner/friend, tell yourself, tell yourself that you are getting better and better each day.

2) Make Your Own Good Vibes Playlist

The right tunes can turn your day from a melodramatic soap opera into a musical.

So why not make your own killer playlist to help you feel unstoppable? Throw in some tunes that make you wanna dance, like you’re in a musical or something.

3) The High Vibration Pledge: Swear On It!

Why let circumstances crash your happiness party? Pledge to yourself that today, come what may, you’re going to sprinkle happiness like you’re the freaking Happiness Fairy.

Yes, it can be this simple. Just decide that today, you will do your best to stay as happy as you can.

Keep going with your aim of staying upbeat the whole day. If something happens, remind yourself that staying high vibration for the rest of the day is still in your control. Today, you’re not going to let the circumstances affect you.

Sure, it might not be possible to stay happy the whole time, but you can still give happiness a damn good try the next moment again.

4) The Rewards Program: Like a Loyalty Card but for Emotions

Begin the day by reminding yourself that you love yourself and end on the same love note, celebrating your growth.

Your reward could be anything simple or big, depending on your triumphs during the day. It could be reading a favorite magazine, watching a well-loved show, a relaxing bath, a chocolate or drink, anything that delights you.

As you savor your reward, pat yourself on the back for how well you’ve coped with the day’s challenges, how wonderful you’ve been at work and at relationships, etc. 

Tell yourself that you get your reward for doing the best that you could do today.

Refrain from counting what you missed or what you didn’t do. The aim is to applaud yourself for what you accomplished.

Praise motivates all of us deeply.

As you go through your days giving yourself enough compliments, you’ll find yourself being less and less dependent on the outside world to fill in. You’ll become less needy and more self-sufficient.

5) The Gratitude Groove: Count Your Wins!

Gratitude is one of the highest vibration emotions and one really easy way to start feeling happier and heal your life.

At the end of the day, think about what went right. Did someone hold the door for you? Did you finally nail that tricky yoga pose? The more you focus on the good stuff, the more good stuff you’ll notice. It’s like magic, but real.

Even if you have not had a particularly good day, you can be thankful for your eyes that help you read this article and see other things. You can be thankful for clean drinking water that comes into your home. You can be thankful for some strangers’ smile.

Once you start thinking about it, you’ll realize that there is so much more to be thankful for than we usually remember to give credit for.

  1. I agree with joy and abundance. My entire life I have purposefully followed joy. People always have said you are so happy. However I have to make sure my following joy is not running from fear!! If you feel a negative emotion observe watch learn and love.

  2. Your not suppose to be happy all the time, realizing that you will be sad, you will be happy and that everything including emotions change constantly is what enlightenment is

    • Partly true. There isn’t s pressure to be happy, because that can’t be forced. And when we are sad for something, then sometimes we have to validate that before moving on. I’m not trying to say that we must be happy all the time. The idea is about being easier with life, with its ebb and flow. Not drowning in the deep, let’s say.
